judge, ing a dog show is a great dog event.judging obedience at a dog show is just as rewarding as judging the show dogs that are there for the dog show conformation venue. the akc has dog shows
as does the adf, american dog federation. the american dog federation is also affiliated with the designer breed registry that registers your dog if it is a designer breed. Registering your dog with the
american dog federation is an opportunity to title your dog as the american kennel club titles the dog breeds that they recognize.

INTEGRITY OF JUDGES
The Board unanimously adopted the following policy:

                                   Criteria For Conformation Judge
1. After an application has been submitted, the application is then reviewed by the Judges Review Committee.

2. After approval if the individual wishes to add a new breed/s, applicants are advised to complete whichever
application is appropriate for the respective breed in which they are applying based upon their experience in that
breed.
The applicant will still be required to be interviewed on the respective breed(s) applied for by an
ADF  Representative. This interview will be scheduled by the ADF Judging Operations Department
after the application has been processed.

3. From submission of an application to becoming a license for the breeds applied for  it can take as little as three to
four weeks at this time.

4. Familiararity with the breeds to be assigned will be determined at time of interview.
Guidlines will come from existing standards which the prospective applicant must be familiar with.

If I apply for a breed and am denied and I reapply for the same breed later, do I have to pay the $25.00
application fee again?
No the fee is applied and remains viable for 1 year from the date of application and can be used for another breed or the same
breed.

5. Passing the interview  as well as the resume on the application, is a requirement for the applied breed, thus failure will result in
that breed being deleted from consideration.

6. Once an application has been reviewed by the Judges Review Committee and any breeds have been approved,
one may  accept assignments immediately.

Following the review by the Judges Review Committee, a letter will be mailed/emailed to the applicant. Upon
receipt of this letter the applicant may now accept assignments on a Permit basis.
You may apply for additional breeds as soon as you have been granted approved status on all of your permit
breeds.
